Birdwatching for Beginners
Event description
The Hunter Wetlands is home to close to 200 species of native bird throughout the year. While many are regularly found at our Wetlands, others are are seasonal visitors.
On this early morning tour birding experts, Bob and Margaret of the Hunter Bird Observers Club (HBOC) will take us through the wetlands spotting birds and teaching us the basics of birdwatching. Learn about bird behaviour, the types of birds commonly found in the wetlands and where to look for them. With so many nesting and baby birds about, Spring is an extra special time to take this tour.
Grab a pair of binoculars (or bring your own) and find out how to spot the feathers through the foliage like a true birder!
