Event description

Join the experts as we learn about the diverse efforts to revitalise the lower end of the Birrarung/Yarra River.... will we even be able to swim in the river??

This event brings together professionals from academia, industry and government who are each contributing to the transformation underway in the Docklands area. Their projects remind us that there’s no single path to impact, and that real change happens across many sectors and skillsets. The fieldtrip starts with a presentation at The Library at the Dock, then we will head out on a walk to see the transformation underway. Finish will be at the Seafarers Precinct.

Connect with the people making positive change:

  • Billy Patten (Riverlee) will outline the scope of the redevelopment in the North Wharf Seafarers Precinct

  • Skye Haldane (Principal, Strategic Design, City of Melbourne)

  • Dr Jacinta Humphrey (University of Melbourne) - Birrarung Trial Floating Wetlands

  • Fernanda Farias (Director of Nature & Circular Economy at Regeneration Projects) - is it possible to have a swimmable river??

Morning tea provided.

Approximately 2km walking involved - wear comfortable shoes and dress according to Melbourne's fickle weather!
