The May Meetup is special because we’ll be celebrating Bitcoin Pizza Day! For those who don’t know, on May 22, 2012, history was made when Laszlo Hanyecz made the first real-world Bitcoin transaction, offering 10,000 Bitcoin for two pizzas. Back then, each Bitcoin was worth $0.0041, so 10,000 Bitcoin equaled $41. Today, those same Bitcoin are worth over $900 million! That’s an incredibly expensive pizza by today’s standards, but it marked a historic moment!
Let’s commemorate this milestone by gathering for pizza at Frankton Pizzeria, a local spot that accepts Bitcoin!
