Event description

This is a concert of firsts….

The first Bach in the Dark concert that will be both live and live-streamed. The first Bach in the Dark concert that will feature piano. And the first Bach in the Dark concert that will feature the amazing musicianship of Lee Dionne. It’s going to be a special night!

Rachel will be joined again by the wonderful flute player (and audience favourite!) Rosie Gallagher  – so many of you have enjoyed her music-making in the past! And to make things really special, they will also be joined by pianist Lee Dionne – a fabulous pianist, educator, arranger, speaker – and someone that Rachel loves playing with.

The three friends will be performing in Hayes Street Studio in Neutral Bay, Sydney. If you’d like to be a part of the live audience, there’s seating for 30 (and tickets will, of course, include a glass of wine!). Tech-whizz Ben Sibson will be standing at the back, live-streaming, so if you can’t get there, or miss out on tickets, you can join us in the confort of your own home!

You can watch the stream live, or if the time doesn’t work for you, the concert will be able to be accessed for a week after the performance. The three friends hope you’ll be able to join them for a very special hour – this will be a concert you won’t forget for a while!

Ticket sales for both the studio and the streaming platform will close at 4.30pm on the day of the concert. The stream will also stay accessible for a week after the concert, so if you have plans on this particular night, you can always watch it a few days afterwards. If there are any remaining studio seats, they will be available at the door of the studio.

The live stream will be broadcast on the YouTube platform. You will need a link to access the stream – this link will be emailed to all ticket purchasers 2 hours before the event. If you have not received the link by 5.30pm (Sydney time) on the day of the concert, please email bachinthedark@gmail.com so it can be sent to you directly.

For the best listening experience at home, it is recommended that you listen to the stream through headphones or external speakers. It’s best to check your setup before the concert by playing another video from YouTube. Bear in mind that video and audio quality may vary depending on your internet connection, network congestion, and other elements outside our control. Bear in mind that the audio in the live stream will have audience noise from the actual real pepople in the room!
