Bach in the Dark - Solo Cello COVID Special
Event description
Due to Sydney's lockdown restrictions, Rachel can't have another musician to come and play - so she's going to play a solo cello recital! She's chosen some beautiful music to share - music that has sustained her over the last few weeks, and is really looking forward to playing to whoever would like to join her for this live-stream.
As well as works by Gabrielli, Purcell and Joseph dall'Abaco, she'll be playing Bach's beautiful fifth suite for solo cello. There's also variations on a Praetorius hymn by American cellist Mark Summer, and a fantasia on the Catalan folk song 'Song of the Birds' written especially for Rachel by M.B. Sibson.
There'll be music to make to smile, music to make you relax and music to soothe you in these strange times. There'll be something for every music lover! She'd love for you to join her....
Ticket sales will close at 4.30pm on the day of the concert. The stream will also stay accessible for a few days after the concert, so if you have plans on this particular night, you can always watch it a few days afterwards...
The live stream will be broadcast on the Youtube platform. You will need a link to access the stream - this link will be emailed to all ticket purchasers 2 hours before the event. If you have not received the link by 5.30pm (Sydney time) on the day of the concert, please email bachinthedark@gmail.com so it can be sent to you directly.
For the best listening experience, it is recommended that you listen to the stream through headphones or external speakers. It's best to check your setup before the concert by playing another video from Youtube. Bear in mind that video and audio quality may vary depending on your internet connection, network congestion, and other elements outside our control.
