Event description

We talk about what it is like working in advocacy while accepting funds from government and others, and specifically the conflicts that arise with campaigns to change government policy. The last few years have significantly altered the landscape for funding from both public sources and philanthropy. More and more, we’re seeing a dampening effect on courageous speech and a temptation to ‘comply in advance’ rather than take risks. How do we navigate these relationships and tensions? What would we need to create a vibrant, critical space for advocacy?

Please note: these learnings sessions are 90 minutes in length.
