Working with the (White) Elephant in the room

This session is to create a space to specifically talk about racism and the prevalence of whiteness and white standards within progressive organisations, not-for-profits, healthcare and education services and many progressive movements. What does it mean when so many progressive organisations are headed by white women? Why are so many people uncomfortable talking about race in general, or to use bell hooks’ phrase, ‘white supremacist capitalist patriarchy’?

And importantly, what would organisational accountability and repair look like?
