Black Catholic Flourishing: Our faith. Our stories. Our shared future.

What does it mean for Black Catholics not merely to survive, but to flourish?

Across the nation, Black Catholic communities continue to embody a rich legacy of faith, leadership, resilience, service, and cultural witness. Yet this moment also invites us to ask new questions about our future:

How do we cultivate thriving communities for future generations?
What gifts, wisdom, and possibilities emerge when we center Black Catholic voices, experiences, and aspirations?
What becomes possible when we move beyond narratives of scarcity and struggle toward a vision of abundance, imagination, and collective flourishing?

Join Black Catholic Flourishing Co-Leads Dr. David W. Robinson, Andrea Pannell, Father Manuel Williams, and Sister Dr. Addie Lorraine Walker for an engaging introduction to the Black Catholic Flourishing Initiative, a national effort over the last two years that has brought together scholars, ministry leaders, philanthropists, community practitioners, and Black Catholic conversation partners to explore the conditions that help Black Catholic individuals, families, parishes, schools, and communities thrive.

Grounded in the Black Catholic tradition and inspired by the creativity, brilliance, and faithfulness of our people, this conversation will introduce a bold framework for understanding flourishing and invite participants into a larger movement of listening, learning, relationship-building, action, and reimagining. Together, we will explore how the gifts of our past can help shape a future where Black Catholic life flourishes in new and transformative ways.

Come curious. Leave inspired. Help imagine what is possible for the future of Black Catholic life.
