Black Cockatoo Crisis: Film Screening @ Day of the Species Exhibition
Event description
Learn about the plight of Western Australia's famous Black Cockatoos, at our screening of Black Cockatoo Crisis. From 6.30pm we will gather for a potluck dinner, followed by the documentary screening and wrapping up with a softly facilitated community conversation.
Created by Jane Hammond in partnership with the Wilderness Society and WA Forest Alliance (WAFA), Black Cockatoo Crisis is a documentary film project designed to inform, inspire and engage. Western Australia’s black cockatoos are heading for the extinction canyon. They need our help. The documentary film, released in November 2022, tells the story of the plight of these special birds. The social impact campaign that surrounds the film aims to help make the change that is needed.
Sliding scale, no one turned away. Please reach out directly to Renee at renee.mason@wilderness.org.au to secure a free space. Funds raised directly support the Wilderness Society's work to end forest mining in the Jarrah and beyond.
