    Event description

2024 Black Dog Ride to World Superbikes!

    Vale – Phillip (GUS) Virgin

Our 2024 ride to WSBK will be EPIC!

This years ride will be a bit longer, to pay respect to our good friend, Gus, who passed soon after last years WSBK ride, and who was a great supporter of Black Dog Ride, and of this ride in particular, making the 3000km trek down from Mossman in Far North Qld each year, to start the ride with us!

Every rider that joins the 2024 Black Dog Ride to World Superbikes before or at Omeo, will go into the running to win a pillion ride around the Phillip Island Circuit with non other than our good friend Troy Corser!!This is exclusive to registered riders, so if you cannot attend please share with your social groups. This could be a once in a lifetime opportunity to lap the track at speed.

    Ride Route

Tuesday 13th February 2024 - Southern crew depart

Starting Tuesday with a Check-in Dinner in the Twin Cities of Albury Wodonga, Gateway to Victoria's Alpine region, and direct access to the roads in the Great Divide regions of NSW and the Monaro Plains surrounding the ACT. The Tuesday night start will allow our friends from FNQ , Sth Aust, and TAS time to travel.

    Wednesday 14th February 2024

Wednesday starts with a community Breakfast in Wodonga CBD, before tracing the Mighty Murray River as it comes down from the High Country, on our way to lunch beside the Murray at Jingellic. An afternoon of gorgeous country roads to follow has us winding our way to the NSW timber town of Tumbarumba, where we will enjoy dinner and catchups recounting our days ride whilst mingling with locals.

    Thursday 15th February 2024

Thursday’s route takes us through the NSW high country, with lunch at Adaminiby, before skirting around Lake Eucembene, and on to Cooma for the night.

    Friday 16th February 2024

Friday takes us to our Nations Capital, where we hope to have a community engagement lunch, before turning our steeds towards the coast and Batemans Bay for the night. Bring on the seafood!!

Saturday 17th February 2024 - Northern crew depart

Saturday has two parts to it. Firstly the Northern crew depart from Kempsey on their run to Wollongong for the night. Details will be advised upon your registration. For those in Batemans Bay the day takes us on a lazy coastal ride to Merimbula for lunch and then to Mallacoota for the night

    Sunday 18th February 2024

Sunday sees the Northern crew depart from Wollongong on their coastal run down to Mallacoota. For those already in Mallacoota, Sunday is a day off, while we wait for the remaining riders to join us. We will have an optional day loop ride to Narrabarba, Rockton, Cann River and back, for those who would like. Sundays Dinner should see us all together for a great catch up.

    Monday 19th February 2024

Monday, we head down to Lakes Entrance, where we will engage in a toolbox lunch talk with a local commercial fishing business, helping them build a stronger community. From there we take our tour from the sea to the Mountains, with a ripper run up the river to an overnight stop in Omeo.

    Tuesday 20th February 2024

Tuesday’s ride takes us around the base of the Vic High Country and a thousand corners, for lunch at Mitta Mitta and then on to Bright for the evening.

    Wednesday 21st February 2024

Wednesday, with an early start we head back up the mountain, where we will stop at Dannys Lookout, one of Gus’ favourite stops, to pay respect to the big man. Then over Mt Hotham and down to Swifts Creek, Bruthen, and Metung for lunch on the water once again. Then its on to Sale for our overnight stop.

    Thursday 22nd February 2024

Thursday gets us on our way to Phillip Island, with stops in Yarram and Inverloch, before, hopefully, arriving at the track for a group ride on the Circuit. (this is still to be confirmed by track management)  Group dinners will be scheduled over the weekend in Cowes, but as we do not have our expo stand this year, we are all free to attend the racing and or explore the region at our leisure.

I cannot wait to see you. If you want to come to Albury Wodonga earlier than Tuesday, let me know and I will be happy to show you around.
