Blacktown Family Science Day 2026 celebrates the full spectrum of STEAM education: Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics. This year’s theme, “The impact of AI on climate change,” invites children, young people and families to explore how science, technology, creativity and critical thinking can help us understand and respond to real-world environmental challenges.

The event recognises the vital role of the Arts in building a well-rounded and innovative approach to learning. By combining scientific discovery with creative expression, students can design, test, imagine and communicate ideas in ways that are practical, engaging and meaningful.

Students aged 8 to 18 will have the opportunity to explore scientific concepts through hands-on activities, interactive demonstrations, exhibitions, robotics, environmental learning, engineering challenges and university pathway conversations. This interdisciplinary approach helps spark curiosity, build confidence and inspire the next generation of changemakers.

The 2026 program will include activities exploring engineering, robotics, environmental sustainability, urban heat, water use, insects, Earth science, dark matter, gravitational waves, university pathways and future STEM careers.
