Tourism Industry Council Tasmania and Wine Tasmania invite you to their fourth annual BLEND Wine + Tourism event.

Our tourism and wine sectors have much in common and share aspirations to grow our value through increased yield, while fostering a global reputation for sustainability and quality built on the Tasmanian brand. BLEND is about bringing our sectors together to talk wine tourism, grow connections, and develop a shared vision for Tasmania to become Australia's premium wine destination.

This year's BLEND provides a new twist, especially for those who want to delve deeper into the wine tourism industry, and to leverage their impact on today's growing markets, with the inaugural BLEND Wine Tourism Workshop.

The inaugural joint BLEND Wine Tourism Workshop will focus on practical insights and information to support your wine tourism offering. Presenters include Allison Clark and Rose Wright, engaged by Tourism Tasmania to lead the "Opening The Gate" agritourism initiative, and Sue Bell from Bellwether Wines. You'll hear about recent research into what domestic visitors are seeking in terms of agritourism experiences, and how this relates to your business, as well as how to expand and leverage your own offering to drive value and visitation. Several case studies will be shared, including the Bellwether wine tourism story and offering, which now includes a boutique winery, cellar door, community kitchen, produce garden, campground and regular events.

With delicious food provided by Hubert & Dan and each table hosted by a local wine producer showcasing their exceptional wines, this is a lunch like no other. Allison Clark, Lead Innovator, Optimum Standard

Allison gets agribusiness, having lived and worked on farms for over 20 years. She has experience as General Manager, CEO and on Boards for agribusiness, food and logistics companies based here in Tasmania and nationally. Allison is also the Project Lead for Opening The Gate (OTG), which focusses on accelerating agritourism in Tasmania.

Allison is known for her networks, collaboration and bringing ideas to life. Her leadership and experience in product innovation includes consumer insights, product design and development, marketing, and brand strategy execution. As Leader Innovator for Optimum Standard, Allison's expertise is sought locally and nationally for agribusiness development, risk and opportunity management, and cluster development.

Rose Wright, Founder and Managing Director, Regionality

Rose has developed and curated Regionality's Agritourism Business Development Program and the Culinary and Agritourism Masterclass Program that underpin the OTG program. She is a passionate and highly respected agir-food, tourism, destination management and regional development professional.

With 30 years' experience working in the sector, Regionality is recognised as Australia's leaders and innovators in agritourism development, and Rose has worked with organisations such as the Winemakers Federation, State and Regional Tourism Organisations, and State Government, as well as hundreds of start-up and existing businesses across eastern Australia. She is the Delivery Partner for the Opening The Gate program.

Sue Bell, Owner and Winemaker, Bellwether Wines

Sue is a deep-thinking winemaker and an optimist. With a degree in Oenology from Adelaide University and postgraduate studies in Viticulture, she has worked for some of the smallest and biggest wine companies in the world, including across South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria, New South Wales, California and Bordeaux. Sue serves on numerous wine industry boards and regularly judges at wine shows, and both she and her wines have collected many awards, with a proud moment being awarded the blue ribbon for veggies at the Penola Show.

Acknowledging and celebrating the ancient Aboriginal heritage of Australia, and how that knowledge is sought to improve the culture of the Australian wine community and long-term connection and care for country is a strong passion for Sue.

Sue can be found at Bellwether making wine and sourdough, gardening, cooking lamb or planning the next music gig or event. A special place that celebrates wine, nature, food, art, history and fun in equal measures, Bellwether is based in an 1868 stone shearing shed and is a true reflection of the 'things that matter' to Sue.
