Alex Salvador – Musician, Sound Immersion Specialist & Drum Circle Facilitator

Based in Townsville, Queensland, Alex Salvador is a full-time drum circle facilitator, sound immersion specialist, and multi-instrumentalist with over two decades of experience. Through his venture, The Rhythm Connection, Alex has been instrumental in fostering community engagement and cultural expression across North Queensland.

Since 2001, he has led the monthly Full Moon Drum Circle at The Strand, Townsville—a vibrant, inclusive event that brings together individuals of all ages and backgrounds to share in the joy of rhythm. This gathering has become a cornerstone of Townsville’s cultural scene, attracting hundreds of participants each month.

Alex's sound immersion sessions offer participants a meditative journey through diverse soundscapes, utilizing instruments such as exotic flutes, handpans, singing bowls, and African harps. These sessions are designed to promote relaxation, mindfulness, and overall well-being.

In addition to facilitating community events, Alex conducts workshops in schools, festivals, and corporate settings, aiming to build connections through rhythm and music. His dedication to the arts and community has been recognized with awards, including the Townsville Australia Day Arts and Culture Award in 2021 and 2025.
