Hostinformation Earning accolades such as ‘first-rate musicians’ (The Daily Telegraph), ‘the best chamber music outfit in town’ (SMH) and ‘one of Australia’s most forward-thinking ensembles’ (Limelight), Omega Ensemble is one of Australia’s most dynamic chamber music ensembles. With a mission to champion extraordinary Australian musical talent through high-energy and impactful performance, the Ensemble presents an annual National Touring Program to metropolitan and regional cities across Australia.
At the heart of the Ensemble’s success is the talent it supports, including some of Australia’s most accomplished classical musicians and artistic collaborators, as well as the world-class Australian and international composers the Ensemble commissions each year.
With a commitment to preserve and present foundational chamber music repertoire, the Ensemble also proudly stands at the forefront of new musical expression, with world and Australian premieres of groundbreaking new works. Commissioning new Australian music also forms the foundation of the Ensemble’s education and outreach programs, presenting in-school workshops, as well developing a growing resource of educational materials to support classroom teaching, and the CoLAB: Composer Accelerator Program.
