"Bloom" Childrens Art + Photography Workshop
Event description
Children are encouraged to explore the local coastline, share stories and create coastal artwork for a communal art piece for the Mandurah Arts Festival.
Starting with a beach walk to Avalon Beach with Coastal Waste Warriors, we share stories of conservation and personal connection to the ocean before splitting into two groups for the creative activity. Concurrent workshops unfold; one led by Fine Art Photographer Sharon Meredith who will lead one group to capture photographs of the coastal landscapes, while Artist Julie Driver, leads the other group in crafting sculptural jellyfish. As the sessions conclude, participants will reveal their ocean-inspired artworks and entrust them to the artists to be united in one collaborative piece titled "Bloom." This collective artwork will be exhibited in the City of Mandurah's Falcon Library during the 2024 Mandurah Arts Festival.
