Description

Join us at ArtUp for a special curator’s tour of Bloom, our exhibition celebrating growth, transformation and the natural world.

Go beyond the artwork labels and discover the stories, materials and creative ideas behind the exhibition. We’ll introduce you to the work of 14 emerging artists and an established artist, sharing insights into their practices and the many ways they interpret the exhibition’s themes - from organic roots, flowers and changing landscapes to personal growth, ageing and renewal.

You’ll encounter an exciting range of contemporary art, including sculpture, painting, textiles, ceramics, crochet, light, scent and participatory works. There will also be time to ask questions, look more closely and connect with fellow art lovers in a relaxed and welcoming gallery setting.

Whether you are curious about contemporary art, interested in collecting, or simply looking for a thoughtful and inspiring Saturday afternoon, this tour offers a deeper way to experience Bloom.

Saturday 22 August 2026, 2 pm
@ ArtUp at The Gladstone, Tower B, 15-85 Gladstone Street, South Melbourne

Bookings are essential. We look forward to welcoming you!

This event and the Bloom art exhibition are part of a Creative Residency program through FB IDEAs with Haiku Life (Greystar) at The Gladstone, South Melbourne.

Curators

  • Jade Armstrong

    Jade Armstrong

Jade believes our environments shape us. She imagines a world where art, immersive experiences, and biology come together to help people flourish and enhance wellbeing everywhere they live, work, play, and gather. Her practice explores how light, colour, and immersive experiences shift the emotional tone of a space. Drawing on research in neuroaesthetics, psychology, and sensory design, Jade creates installations that support wellbeing and anchor people to the present moment. Her works span light sculptures, participatory installations, and multi-sensory experiences. Jade is also the co-founder of ArtUp Global, an emerging art ecosystem connecting emerging artists with audiences.

  • Kerrin Samuel

    Kerrin Samuel

Kerrin is a multimedia artist who creates artworks that explore the human experience. Drawing inspiration from observations of life, mythology, music and a healthy dose of imagination, her work combines olfactory, visual and auditory senses with light and technology. Kerrin studied and worked in graphic design, fashion design and interior design before returning to study as a mature-age student, earning a Fine Art degree at RMIT University, graduating with distinction and a place on the Vice-Chancellor's List. She also has a background in branding, merchandising and marketing, as well as running her own successful businesses. A multi award-winning artist, Kerrin has been a finalist in numerous national art prizes, including the North Queensland Ceramics Award, the Muswellbrook Art Prize, the Wyndham Art Prize, the Newstead Small World Prize at the Castlemaine State Festival and the Nillumbik Prize for Contemporary Art. Since graduating, Kerrin has teamed up with fellow RMIT alumna Jade Armstrong to establish ArtUp Global.
