Join us for the third and final webinar in our Blue Futures series and discover how creativity can become a powerful force for ocean change.

Protecting our ocean takes more than science, policy and technology. It also takes people who can tell stories, challenge perspectives, create emotional connections and help us imagine a different future. From film and music to design, art, photography and storytelling, creative skills can shape how people understand, value and respond to the world around them.

If you’re passionate about the ocean and drawn to a creative career, this webinar is for you. Your creativity, ideas and unique way of seeing the world can all become part of the solution.

Join a panel of creative professionals who have chosen to use their talents to connect people with the ocean and environment. They’ll share their career journeys, what they studied, the challenges they’ve faced, how they found their way into purpose-driven work, and what it really looks like to combine creativity with positive impact.

Panel:

Andrew Simpson - Founder and Director of Vert Industrial Design + Volunteer CEO, Design Declares Australia
Harriet Spark - Underwater photographer, filmmaker + Associate Producer, Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC)
Em Hoggett - Critically acclaimed music artist, actress, scuba diver, free-diver and ocean conservationist

Together, we’ll explore:

Different careers connected to ocean and environmental protection
University and alternative pathways into the sector
What skills and experience really matter
What it takes to build a career with real impact

The panel discussion will be followed by a live Q&A session, with opportunities for attendees to ask questions directly to the speakers. Questions can be submitted live during the webinar or ahead of time during registration, giving participants the chance to reflect on what information, advice or insights would be most valuable to them before the session.

Whether you already know where you’re heading or are still figuring it out, our Blue Futures series is about helping you discover meaningful pathways into protecting the future of our oceans.
