Support Blues Dancing in Seattle

This event is a fundraiser supporting Seattle Blues Dance Collective’s community programming, classes, and social dances. Join us for a free, beginner-friendly Blues dance lesson by Lila Faria at 1pm, followed by a sliding scale ticketed Blues social dance with local DJ Whitney Leisenring! Learn the fundamentals in a welcoming space and discover the joy of Blues dance.

Come out and celebrate the launch of our new nonprofit (and brand new logo) by dancing with us!

Community Giveaway & Silent Auction

We will be running two opportunities to win items during this event: A Community Giveaway & a Silent Auction! Support community Blues dancing in Seattle while taking home something wonderful 💙

Silent Auction

This event's silent auction features generously donated items from local artists, businesses, community members, and supporters. Items will include:

- Local non-Blues classes, including pottery making class at Rain Ceramics and a Chicago Steppin' class

- Tea and tea supplies, which you can sample at the front desk

- Locally made pottery, and more

How it works:

- Write your name + bid amount on the bid sheet at the front desk

- You may bid on as many items as you'd like

- Highest bid at the close of the auction wins

- Winners will be announced during the DJ break

Please do not remove items from the table until payment has been completed.

Community Giveaway

In addition to the auction, there will also be a Raffle-Style Community Giveaway, in which we will be raffling off private Blues dance lessons by local instructors and "Sponsor a Song" slots for the second half of the dance. You can sign up for this Giveaway on Humanitix or at the front door of the dance!

Sponsor a Song (or Cause a Little Chaos)

Donate $10+ before this event ($15+ at the door) to dedicate a song, message, mood, inside joke, or musical curveball to a future Blues Underground dance.

Yes, it can be Blues (or non-Blues).
Yes, it can be weird.
Yes, you can lovingly troll the room.

Want to manifest a dance battle?
Dedicate a song to your favorite dance gremlin?
Play one of Robin's "Definitely Blues Songs" playlist?
This is your moment.

How it works:
• Donate via Venmo/PayPal/cash or via Humanitix
• Include your dedication, song request and preferred date of the sponsored song in the notes or message it to us directly via Discord
• DJs will do their best to weave requests into the night

All donations help support community Blues dancing and accessible arts programming in Seattle.

Examples:
• “For everyone who said they’d leave after one song”
• “This one’s for the close embrace enthusiasts”
• “Play something heartbreakingly dramatic”
• “In honor of dance floor menace behavior everywhere”
