    Event description

Suspiciously long-lived matriarch Lizzie Coombe expects her one hundredth birthday to be memorable, But what comes after will never be forgotten by anyone in this close-knit Welsh community.

Lizzie and her daughter Myfanway only remember old love from long dead sweethearts, granddaughter Sarah Maud is frightened by it...and great granddaughter Jenner doesn’t seem to need it. As events and people spiral out of her control, Lizzie faces her own ghost, and sees she might have to do the unthinkable: care for her family.

Pam Swanborough is a local author and a member of Ballarat Writers Inc.

Pam started writing in 2019 after getting inspired by the Fed Uni Ballarat writing course, and has stories published in Australia and the USA. She will be chatting to Rebecca Fletcher about her debut novel and the experience of starting a writing career in later life.

Presented in partnership with Collins Booksellers on Lydiard.
