BNI Horowhenua Pre-Launch Meeting
Description
You've heard about BNI Horowhenua. Now come and experience it. Interest in our new chapter has been overwhelming - and this Pre-Launch Meeting is your chance to see exactly what BNI looks like in action before we officially launch.
This is not another information evening. Our first Discovery Evening introduced BNI to the region and the response was phenomenal. This Pre-Launch Meeting goes further. It's structured like a real BNI chapter meeting - because it is one. You'll walk away knowing precisely what membership looks like, feels like, and delivers.
What's on the agenda? Hosted by Oli Corby and Tony Shalders, the evening includes:
A live BNI chapter meeting experience - see the format, the energy, and the structure firsthand
An introduction to BNI Horowhenua - the chapter itself, what's available, and how to become a founding member
Speed networking - meet other local business owners, tradespeople, and professionals in a fast, fun format
Guest speakers sharing real-world results from BNI membership
A raffle on the night
Food platters, tea and coffee throughout
And there's one more reason this evening matters. This is the actual venue where BNI Horowhenua will meet every week. The Open Meeting Room at Te Takeretanga o Kura-hau-po is where your future chapter home is - come and get a feel for it.
Who should attend? Business owners, sole traders, and professionals in Horowhenua, Kāpiti, or the Manawatū who are ready to take the next step. Whether you attended our Discovery Evening and are keen to see more, expressed interest, have since applied or simply missed out first time around - this is the evening that drives this chapter forward.

FAQs
- What is BNI?
BNI (Business Network International) is the world's largest business referral network, with over 3,300 members across New Zealand and thousands more in 70+ countries. Members meet weekly to build genuine relationships, share qualified referrals, and grow their businesses - all built on the philosophy of Givers Gain®
- What happens at a BNI Pre-Launch Meeting?
This is a 90-minute evening structured like a real BNI chapter meeting - because it is one. Hosted by Oli Corby and Tony Shalders, you'll experience the BNI meeting format firsthand, hear from guest speakers, take part in speed networking, and find out exactly what founding membership of BNI Horowhenua looks like. There's no pressure and no obligation - just come along and see if it's a fit.
- I already attended the Discovery Evening. Is this the same thing?
No - this is a significant step further. The Discovery Evening introduced BNI and what it stands for. This Pre-Launch Meeting is structured as a real chapter meeting, held in the actual venue where BNI Horowhenua will meet every week. If you left the first evening curious, this one will answer everything that's left to answer.
- Who is this for?
Any business owner, sole trader, or professional based in Horowhenua, Kāpiti, or the Manawatū who wants to grow through trusted referrals. Whether you attended our first Discovery Evening, have since applied or expressed interest, or are coming to a BNI event for the first time - you're welcome here.
- Is this a sales pitch?
No. This evening is about giving you a genuine experience of BNI - not selling you on it. You'll see how a real chapter meeting runs, meet local business owners, and make up your own mind. If it feels right, we'll show you the next steps. If it's not for you, no problem at all.
- Do I need to prepare anything?
No preparation needed. Your name tag will be ready when you check-in at the venue. Just bring yourself, a stack of business cards if you have them, and an open mind. The evening is designed to be welcoming whether you know nothing about BNI or you've been considering it for a while. We've got the food and drinks sorted.
- How much does it cost to attend?
Nothing. This event is completely free. Food platters, tea and coffee are all provided on the night - just register to secure your seat before 9pm on the 16 June.
- Is food provided?
Yes - food platters, tea and coffee will be available throughout the evening. Everything is taken care of, just bring yourself and your business cards.
- Is there parking available?
Yes. Te Takeretanga o Kura-hau-po (Levin Community Centre & Library) has parking available on site. The venue is easy to find in central Levin and well signposted.
- What is a founding member?
A founding member is someone who joins BNI Horowhenua from the very beginning - before the chapter officially launches. Founding members help shape the culture, fill the category roster, and set the tone for everything that follows. There are limited spots available and each business category is exclusive, so once a category is taken, it's taken.
- Can I bring a friend or colleague?
Absolutely - and we encourage it. If you know another local business owner who'd benefit from being part of BNI Horowhenua, bring them along. Just make sure they register separately so we can account for numbers. Walk-ups on the day cannot be admitted.
- How many people can join the chapter?
Each BNI chapter has one member per business category - so there's no competition within the room. Once your category is filled, no one else in the same trade or profession can take it. This exclusivity is one of BNI's most powerful features, and it's first come, first served.
- What does it cost to join BNI?
BNI membership is a business investment that covers your annual membership fee and chapter dues. Exact figures will be covered on the night, and our hosts will walk you through what's included and what you can realistically expect in return. Most members find the referrals they receive far exceed the cost of membership.
- I'm interested but not sure I'm ready to join yet.
That's completely fine - the evening isn't a commitment. It's your chance to experience what BNI Horowhenua will look like every week, meet the people involved, and decide in your own time. Come along, ask questions, and see how it feels. Founding membership opportunities won't be available indefinitely however, so this is the right time to find out more.
- What happens after this event?
If you'd like to become a founding member of BNI Horowhenua, our hosts will walk you through the next steps on the night. Applications are already open and interest has been strong - if you have a category in mind, don't leave it too long.
- I am already in another BNI Chapter, how do I transfer to BNI Horowhenua?
You would need to complete the offline, digital application form. This is available by Clicking HERE. Check 'Member Changing Chapter' and complete as required.
