First Home Buyers Evening

This is an opportunity for attendees to hear from the professionals you will interact with on the home buying journey, and an opportunity to ask questions or meet with them after the presentation.

• Mortgage Advisers – generally the first step for first home buyers to establish how much they can borrow. We will cover off how much deposit you need, Kiwisaver First Home Withdrawal, Kainga Ora First Home Grant, Kainga Ora First Home Loan, how do banks assess applications, what banks we like to use, interest rates.
• Solicitor – they are involved early in the process to and are usually known as facilitating the change of ownership of the property your name and transferring money to sellers. This will be covered off along with the importance of having your Solicitor review your offer to purchase the property, what clauses you should add into your offer, and reviewing the property file abnormalities
• Builder – Builders help with inspections, the last thing you want to be doing is buying a lemon
• Insurance Adviser – Taking on a mortgage is a big financial commitment. She will cover the importance of protecting yourself from financial risk (eg how are you going to pay your mortgage if you lose your job)
