The great Jorge Ben Jor's 1969 Brazillian classic 'Take It Easy My Brother Charles' has become a much loved live favourite whenever Bobby Alu and Fernando Aragones (Animal Ventura) cross paths on the tour trail. The musical delight between the friends is magical, and best summed up with the lyric "Eu canto a alegria" - I sing of joy.

With summer approaching, it felt like just the right time to capture a recording of the ode to joy and take it on the road for a 10-date spin across NSW, QLD and WA.

Join Bobby and his band of musical soul brothers for a dose of audio sunshine to make young and old feel truly happy in the heart. Family Friendly "Whether you’re on, near, or simply pining for a body of water and a calmer frame of mind, Bobby’s brand of coastal folk will take you there. It takes a lot of skill to make something this good sound so effortless." Dorothy Markek – Double J “His chilled out Pacific tunes have a long-lasting feel good effect and his finely crafted songs have instant appeal.” ABC Radio Australia “Smooth hammock music genius.” The AU Review

::Bobby Alu::
If you ask Australian/Samoan singer, ukulele strummer and drummer Bobby Alu what his music sounds like, he’ll tell you how he hopes it makes you feel: like you have your favourite drink in hand, sipping as the sun sets on a warm evening that’s laden with the promise of adventure. In an ideal world, he’d follow summer around the earth, in his endless quest to nail that feeling in his songs that ride the groove spectrum from Polynesian folk, through roots, reggae, harmony laden soul to tropical pop.

With a reputation as a world-class performer – touring as Xavier Rudd’s percussionist for five years, and supporting the likes of Xavier, John Butler Trio and Trevor Hall across North America and Europe – Bobby’s most recent album Keep It Tropical debuted at #3 on the ARIA Australian Albums Chart. Though it’s primarily a mission statement: Take naps. Be generous. Go on adventures. Have gratitude. Enjoy the little things. Strive to be better. Don’t be so serious. Love. Laugh a lot. Eat the odd donut. Swim in the ocean. Enjoy the sunshine and warmth.

Animal Ventura is the brainchild of Byron Bay-based singer-songwriter Fernando Aragones. Growing up playing punk and reggae in noisy garage bands in Southern Brazil, Aragones ventured to Australia where the eclectic sounds of the Sydney music scene beckoned.

What sets Animal Ventura apart is a unique ability to effortlessly fuse funk rhythms from his native South America with the coastal indie folk of Australian shores, combined with the new wave of live looping and his thirst for solid neat beats. To top it off his soothing and timeless vocals hold strength and passion in their delivery.
