Bobby Sox bring their rock'n roll and blues to the River Rock Cafe

Bobby Sox are bringing their energetic, fun music to the fantastic River Rock Café Bermagui, this coming October 7. The Sox originated on Sydney’s Northern Beaches in the early 80’s. Playing it’s own brand of high octane rockabilly, which evolved into high energy rock n roll and blues, the band quickly developed a huge following in Sydney, the North Coast and Gold Coast, which continued growing through to 1986 when they called time on the project. With a reputation for always being fun and entertaining, the “time to party” approach by this band of accomplished musos, saw Bobby Sox fill some of Sydney’s biggest venues through that time, and support a who’s who of Australia’s most popular 80’s recording bands.

Band members have played with celebrated Aussie bands and entertainers, such as Midnight Oil, Mental As Anything, Mixed Relations, The Warumpi Band, Kev Carmody, Happening Thang, Leah Purcell, Slim Dusty, Baby James, Shade of Red, Avapolooza and many more, in their years as professional musos. Their collection of songs cover Elvis, Robert Gordon, Eddie Cochran, Freddie King, Blues Brothers, George Thorogood, David Lindley, Clapton, Ray Charles, Spencer Davis, The Kinks, Easybeats, Daddy Cool, Masters Apprentices - a gathering of classics played with the Sox feel and a selection of their own material.

With a strong connection to the local community of Bermagui and surrounds, the band are itching to get some serious foot tapping, smiling and dancing bulging the River Rock’s walls.
