4 hour workshop

Singing folk songs in 2 and 3 part harmonies
During the workshop you will learn how to prepare your body for singing, and raise your voice in songs of nurture and soothing, sorrow and joy.
We will start the day with Yoga and meditation with an emphasis on releasing tension around the throat and sacral chakras. followed by some breathwork techniques and toning, exploring the sounds within our bodies.
We will play some gentle vocal improvisation games and weave a supportive sound basket together that will allow you to explore your voice and gain confidence in expressing yourself.
You’ll learn some supportive, embodied singing techniques to encourage a healthy voice, and last but not least we’ll sing songs in two and three part harmony and mantras
About Amber: Amber Is an experienced Yoga and meditation Teacher who has always loved to sing, She truly found her voice and healed her relationship to expressing her voice through the practice of yoga. She loves to share the power of the voice through yoga and voice activation and has held workshops and retreats based around these practices.

About Pearl : Pearl is an English folk singer with a strong interest in vocal improvisation and singing for wellbeing and community.
She has run sing-arounds, workshops and has been involved in choirs her whole life. Only after a period of silence did she realise the need for singing as a nurturer, soother, connector and most of all a joy, and began a journey of exploration into singing the soul’s song.
Her interest in folk music was passed down from her parents has lead her to be drawn into a circle of the newest wave of British traditional folk musicians.
