Body Weather - Open Training (Waring season)
Event description
‘Body Weather’ is a physical training method beneficial for all kinds of performers, and anyone looking to strengthen and tune their bodies and expand physical range and qualities of movement. Developed by Min Tanaka in Japan in the 1980s, the training has continued to evolve via practitioners worldwide. Gretel Taylor facilitates Body Weather training over 8 weeks in the time of year known as Waring (wombat season) to the Kulin Nation. This block of 8 weeks gives us the opportunity to develop strength and fitness through regular training, as well as deepen our creative explorations as we enter the cooler, darker months.
Open Training sessions consist of:
- a curious, loosening warm-up
- an hour ‘MB’ work-out (Mind-Body, Muscle-Bone)
- imaginative, sensory and improvisational activities.
