ALEXANDER BOLDACHEV is a virtuoso-harpist, composer, exclusive artist of Italian harp house Salvi Harps, initiator of the World Harp Day, founder of the Zurich Harp Festival, co-founder of community “LYUDẎ”. Laureate of more than a dozen prestigious international competitions, including composing competitions; awarded by the “Britain's Brilliant Prodigies”, “Aoyama Music Award” in Kyoto, “Pro Europa” in Austria, presented by Heinz Fischer for high achievements in the field of culture; Fellow of the international foundations Vontobel in Switzerland and Banque Populaire in France, as well as the Russian foundations for the development of young musicians Spivakov, Temirkanov, the Rotary Club and Houses of Music that gave a start to his career. Laureate of the Prix Walo television award in Switzerland.

Plays the harp, piano and writes music from the age of five. Travels with solo concerts around the world, leads master classes at such educational institutions as the Royal Conservatory in Toronto, Juilliard School in New York, Royal Academy in London, Ferenc Liszt Academy in Budapest. In 2018, wrote and performed an electronic harp solo at the FIFA World Cup Opening Ceremony, sharing the stage with Robbie Williams and Aida Garifullina. Performs in such world halls as Carnegie Hall in New York, the Hall of Gaveau in Paris, the Musikverein in Vienna, the Great Hall of the Philharmonic in St. Petersburg, and others, both with solo concerts and in collaboration with many European and Russian orchestras.

Alexander Boldachev is a participant of the festivals Burning Man, Musical Olympus, New Names, Mozart+, Davos and Gstaad in Switzerland, Big Russian Ball in Rome, Bravo Award, SKIF Sergey Kuroyokhin, Burberry and D&G shows, projects of The Moscow and St. Petersburg Houses of Music.


HOBART CITY BAND INC. is a not-for-profit organisation based in Tasmania, Australia, offering members of the community the opportunity to play in ensembles catering for a range of musical tastes and abilities.


SIMON READE Musical director and conductor for Hobart City Band Inc.
Born in Launceston, Tasmania in 1977, Simon Reade is a conductor, composer, educator and trumpet player. He is passionate about the performance of new music and has given the world premiere of over 100 new works by Tasmanian composers, many of these with the Hobart Wind Symphony which he has directed for over 25 years. Simon also directs both the large ensembles at the University of Tasmania, conducts Tasmania's only A grade Brass Band for Glenorchy City Brass, as well as working freelance with professional and community organisations. He is a fully represented composer at the Australian Music Centre and in 2022 was awarded the APRA/AMCOS State Luminary Award for Tasmania, for his sustained contribution as a conductor and the promotion of Australian Music.

THOMAS MCKAY is a passionate Tasmanian classical saxophonist. He is currently the first alto/soprano saxophone in the Hobart Wind Symphony and a founding member of the Xyris saxophone quartet. He completed his studies at the Hobart Conservatorium of Music in 2018 and has also studied in Montpellier, France, and in Freiburg, Germany, with the Rascher quartet. Thomas has performed as a soloist with many ensembles in Hobart and also with the ORSO Philharmonic Orchestra in Freiburg.


ROSEMARY HOLLOWAY started flute lessons in 1974, joining the Education Department of Queenslands free lessons in schools, the first year it was introduced in Toowoomba. She studied at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music between 1980-1985. She became the flute lecturer at the University of Southern Queensland during 1987-1988.
In 1989 she moved to Tasmania and played in the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra as a casual flautist until 1995.
She has also frequently played with the Derwent Symphony Orchestra, Hobart Chamber Orchestra, Clarence Band, Derwent Valley Concert Band, and the Hobart Wind Symphony over the enduing decades. 

I am very grateful for my life as a musician and teacher and feel blessed to be still learning and performing after 50 years.

DAN BROWN is a Hobart local whose interest in music, particularly percussion, has taken him all over Australia. His player credits include Principal Percussionist for Hobart Wind Symphony and Glenorchy City Concert Brass, Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, National Australia Brass, Australian Tenors, many musical theatre seasons and other guest roles. In addition to being a well-known member of Australia's community banding scene, he is regularly invited to play with bands at national competitions; including for Sydney City Brass (NSW) and Immortal Brass Eternally (Japan).During the day Dan is a Mechanical Engineer and Project Manager, and while he can most often be found behind a set of timpani, he's also no stranger to a walk on the beach with his dog, Fox.
