Hot on the heels of the tour of their sophomore album ‘Lo’, Melbourne six-piece Bollard continue playing around Victoria. A unique blend of indie and noise rock, Bollard’s shows are eclectic and energetic. This time at the intimate Odessa at Lever’s it will surely be a night to remember.

Joining them are local Creswick acts Pyrex and One part gin.

Pyrex

Since beginning as a two-piece studio band with singer/songwriter Arian Lane who emerged from a folk music background, and Jordan Hicks who has inhabited various punk bands over the years, the band has grown into a five-piece, whose sound emits an unconscious amalgamation of its parts; woozy, glistening, psychedelic and groovy dream pop.

One part gin

Holly and Sam play dark folk music that is splattered with gritty and gloomy themes. Their songs follow a series of narratives about people down on their luck and doing whatever they have to do to survive. Pleasing melodies and pain collide. So sit back with a whiskey shot and surround yourself with stories of cursed convicts and deceitful drunks.

With recording taking place throughout lockdowns with an evolving line-up 'Lo' is a testament to Bollard's creative prowess and the culmination of diverse influences and environments. Recorded, mixed and mastered by Aaron Dobos, the album boasts a concise and measured sound, embracing the essence of their previous offerings while paving new artistic directions.
