Bond University 2024 Indigenous Gala | November 22
Event description
Bond University 2024 Indigenous Gala | Kumai Karulbo
Enjoy a 3-course Indigenous-inspired meal, drinks package, live entertainment from The Jacks Band and Biren Cultural Group dancers, plus the opportunity to bid in our live and silent auctions. Proceeds directly support our Indigenous scholarships and student support program.
Bond University has welcomed Indigenous students since its first cohort in 1989. Since 2013, when the Nyombil Indigenous Support Centre was opened, 193 Indigenous students have graduated, 148 scholarships have been awarded and Bond University has invested more than $6million in Indigenous education.
Each year, at least eight tuition scholarships are awarded to Indigenous students, plus bursaries extended to relocating Indigenous students taking up residence on campus.
Students being given the opportunity to be the first in their family to attend university is a transformative experience with far reaching impacts. Kumai Karulbo is Bond University’s signature fundraising event for the Indigenous Scholarship and Support Program, which plays a pivotal role in empowering Indigenous youth through scholarships, resources, and support for a tertiary education.
Our goal for the event is to transform lives and enrich society, while also celebrating Indigenous culture within the wider community. The gala attracts a distinguished audience, including numerous VIPs, for an unforgettable evening.
