Boneseed Bust Community Weeding Day at Goroke
Event description
🌱 Boneseed Bust! Community Weeding Day in Goroke.
On Sunday 5 October, join Horsham District Landcare Network for a hands-on community day tackling one of our region’s worst environmental weeds – boneseed. This invasive plant threatens biodiversity by smothering native vegetation and reducing habitat for local wildlife. It is considered a Weed of National Significance.
We’ll spend the day working together to remove boneseed via hand pulling, saws and herbicide. Lunch, snacks and tea/coffee will be provided as a thank you to volunteers. No prior experience is necessary, weed ID guidance will be provided.
This is a great opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, connect with community, and make a real difference for the environment. Families and all ages welcome.
Bring:
Clothing appropriate for the outdoors and weather conditions, including closed-toe shoes
Gloves
Water bottle
Hand saw/s or electric pruning saw/s if you have them (we'll have some spare tools)
