Description

2 Hour Bonsai Workshop - The Bellingen Brewery & Co.

Bonsai and Brews is a fun, easygoing workshop to share with friends or family, where you leave with a great story (and your own bonsai tree).

This beginner-friendly 2 hour workshop gets you hands-on from the start. Bonsai expert Mason guides you through potting, shaping, and wiring a bonsai, drawing on 30 years of experience and plenty of humour to keep things relaxed.

No experience needed, if you can hold a pair of scissors, you’ll be just fine.

Grab your drink of choice, settle in, and enjoy two hours of practical learning. You’ll head home with your own bonsai, how to care for it, and the confidence to keep it growing long after the event.

You’ll go home with:

  • A bonsai tree you choose yourself

  • A ceramic bonsai pot

  • Two hours of hands-on bonsai learning and wisdom

  • Ongoing support through the nursery and online resources

We’ll provide everything you need to work with:

  • A drink on us!

  • Bonsai soil and materials

  • Shears for trimming

  • Bamboo for digging

  • Wiring and shaping tools

A few things to know:

  • Limited spots available (30 people)

  • Held over two hours at The Bellingen Brewery & Co.

  • Treat yourself and grab something delicious from the menu for lunch after the workshop.

If you’ve ever wanted to learn bonsai basics in a great setting with your own plant to take home, this workshop is for you.

FAQs

  • Can two people share one tree/ticket?

No. Our events are ticketed per person, not per tree, so everyone attending must have a ticket. This is because space is limited to 30 and we need to be able to sell tickets for every seat we have available. Thank you for understanding.

  • How do I attend this event?

To visit The Bellingen Brewery & Co., located at 3/5 Church St, Bellingen NSW 2454, you have several options for transport and parking. Tucked away in a vibrant lane just off the town's main street, the venue is highly accessible but mostly relies on car travel due to its regional location.

    Parking Options

The brewery does not have its own dedicated customer parking lot, but parking nearby is straightforward:

    • Street Parking: Free street parking is widely available along Church Street and Hyde Street (the main road). Be mindful of signposted time restrictions during peak business hours.

    • Accessible Parking: The venue features dedicated wheelchair-accessible parking spaces nearby, alongside a step-free and wheelchair-friendly entrance.

    Transport Alternatives

    • By Car: Driving is the most highly recommended way to visit the Bellingen Shire. If you are arriving from out of town, you can fly into Coffs Harbour Airport and rent a vehicle for the drive down.

    • Public Bus: Local bus routes operated by Busways connect Bellingen to surrounding hubs like Urunga, Repton, Mylestom, and Coffs Harbour. Route 358 travels directly into Bellingen and North Bellingen.

    • Train & Connection: You can take a regional NSW TrainLink service to the nearby Urunga Station or Coffs Harbour Station, then catch a local Busways connection or taxi into Bellingen town centre.

    • Community Transport: For visitors requiring physical assistance or face difficulty using traditional public transit, the Coffs Harbour, Bellingen & Nambucca Community Transport program provides accessible door-to-door shuttle services.
