Bonsai Workshop with Katie
Event description
Bonsai is the Japanese art of growing ornamental dwarfed trees and shrubs. In this fun and social workshop Katie will support you to choose a plant and begin to train it in a new pot. She’ll cover plant care and troubleshooting, so you’ll leave with your new bonsai and the knowledge to care for it.
Katie is a horticulturist with experience in a broad range of sectors. She loves to share her knowledge and skills with others and help them troubleshoot their plant woes as well as bask in the successes. Katie works for Perth City Farm as our Farm Gardener.
We strongly recommend wearing masks for all our indoor workshops. Our weekly farmer's market will be in full swing during your workshop, so it's worth arriving a little early to check out the stalls and maybe buy some fresh produce.
Perth City Farm is a community urban farm that supports connected, sustainable communities. Established on a former industrial site in East Perth, this polluted site has been lovingly rehabilitated by volunteers to become a Western Australian icon for environmental sustainability and community engagement.
