What to expect.
Sit down for a one-on-one or very small group conversation with your chosen 'Book'. This is an opportunity to increase your understanding of others in your community.
As the 'Reader', you can ask respectful questions to stimulate conversation.
Each session be 20 minutes long, indicated by a bell/timer.
What to bring.
Nothing except an open mind and some questions related to your 'Book's' story!
We will provide refreshments during a break between sessions.
Rules
· The loan period is 20 minutes.
· Have some questions ready for your ‘Book’ that are related to the theme.
· Our ‘Books’ are volunteers so please be respectful in your conversation and questions.
· Understand that our ‘Books’ can decline to answer a question or to quit the conversation at any time.
· You can’t record, videotape or photograph the ‘Books’ or the Library.
· There is a chance that your ‘Book’ may be unavailable on the day due to unforeseen circumstances such as illness. We hope you understand.
· Read the ‘Book’ introductions before choosing your Book.
Prompt questions:
· Why did you decide to participate in the Living Library?
· Why did you choose this book title?
· How did this event/experience influence your life?
· How does this experience reveal who you are?
