Join us at the Guildhouse Sturt Street office to celebrate Marijana's career and the significant contribution she has made to the South Australian urban landscape over the past three decades. You will have the opportunity to hear Marijana offer us personal insights into her conceptual development, inspiration, artistic process and challenges in creating works that are in conversation with place and a public audience, followed by a Q+A with contributing author Marie Falcinella and facilitated by Sian Watson, Producer, Guildhouse Professional Services.

Artist Marijana Tadić is recognised for her ability to distil complex ideas into elegant sculptural forms. An astute observer of the natural world, she uses patterns found in nature - stratification, interlacing, duplication, and the flow of energy - to construct works that create dialogue and bring attention to issues of significance.

In Art Made Public Tadic provides us with an intimate glimpse into 10 major pubic artworks, offering us personal insights into her conceptual development, inspiration, challenges and artistic process for creating works that are in conversation with place and a public audience.

Marijana Tadic is an Australian artist. She was born in Bosnia and migrated to Australia in 1969. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts from the University of South Australia and a Diploma in Education from Flinders University. In 1983, Tadic was awarded a General Builders and Supervisor Licence by the South Australian Licensing Board associations. Marijana Tadic's solid understanding of contemporary art practice, culture and history contribute to her ability to create 'a sense of place' that is a welcome and enriching experience in our ever changing world.

Marie Falcinella is a writer and visual arts professional living and working on Peramangk and Kaurna Country, South Australia. Her career experience includes commercial fine art galleries in Adelaide and Melbourne as well as working with Aboriginal owned and governed art centres across Arnhem Land, Top End and the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) Lands to deliver community led projects and strategic development support. Her writing has been published in Artlink, fine print Magazine, and a range of artist publications and exhibition catalogues.
