About the Author

Sarah Wallace is an author and book enthusiast with a passion for the power of words. She writes flash fiction, short stories, poetry and children’s books and spent four years as a reviewer for Kids’ Book Review. Sarah’s latest picture book, Learning You by Heart is coming out in May 2026 and is a beautiful love song from a parent to their child.

Sarah's first picture book, Emma’s Freckles, was published in 2023. It is a magical story of self-acceptance inspired by Gaelic mythology and filled with twinkling stars, a shimmering island and connection to stories of ancestors.

Sarah has served on the ACT Committee of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) and is a member of MARION (ACT Writers Centre), the Children’s Book Council of Australia and the Australian Society of Authors. She works in government education policy, has a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature, a Postgraduate Certificate in Early Childhood Education and a Master of Education. In her spare time, Sarah enjoys reading, walking, gardening and spending time with her three children and budgie, Minty.
