Living in the Liminal Space by Professor Sarah Wayland is a 25 year reflection on living, working and supporting people with an unresolved loss. The book, with a foreword by Emeritus Professor Pauline Boss, is designed for social work educators, mental health professionals, students and professionals working in grief and trauma and those with lived experience of an ambiguous loss.
The book will be launched in collaboration with The Missed Foundation to mark the end of National Missing Persons Week 2026.
Hear from the author, as well as Loren O'Keeffe (CEO of The Missed Foundation), and a panel of speakers who will explore why opening conversations about uncertainty is essential to our wellbeing.

Yes, you can enter via a flat entryway on the ground floor of 400 Kent st and access a lift to Level 3.
- Will there be support available for people with lived experience?
Yes, social work students and those who work in mental health will be available on the night, should you need assistance.
- Do I need to purchase a book or make a donation to attend?
No. This is a free event, however you may wish to purchase an 'add on' to your free ticket to include a copy of the book and/or make a donation to The Missed Foundation prior to attending. These options are also available on the night.
- Will I get a tax-deductible receipt for my donation?
Yes. The Missed Foundation is a registered charity, and all donations over $2 are tax-deductible. You will receive your official tax receipt via email within a week of the event.
