Event description

Join The Book Cow to launch novel Love and Other Scores by local author Abra Pressler.

Love and Other Scores is a queer sports romance for adults full of heart, spice and, of course, tennis.

"Gabriel is a global tennis superstar and heart-throb. As he eyes his first Grand Slam title at the Australian Open, the pressure is getting to him. After an intense practice session, Gabriel finds refuge in a bar, where he meets Noah. Oblivious to sports, Noah doesn't recognise Gabriel, but there is an instant connection. The more time they spend together in the blazing heat of a Melbourne summer, the more their feelings and attraction grow.
Both Gabriel and Noah have their reasons for wanting to keep their romance private. With the stakes so high, will they be willing to risk everything for love all?"

Serving up a swoonworthy romance full of twists and turns, Love and Other Scores is a bright and entertaining story from a new Australian voice.

Abra Pressler writes romance fiction from her home on Ngunnawal Country in Canberra, Australia. She grew up on Wiradjuri land in West Wyalong, NSW and studied Creative Writing at RMIT University in Melbourne, where she lived for three years & worked as both a junior TV writer and a chocolate maker simultaneously. With little else to do during the pandemic, Abra decided to self-publish an old manuscript in May 2020, titled More. By December, she’d sold 3,000 copies. She continued writing romance and was shortlisted for the 2021 Penguin Random House WriteIt Fellowship for Love Other Scores, and after a mildly viral tweet, she signed with Pan Macmillan Australia in 2023. Love and Other Scores being published in November 2023.

This event will take place at the Barton Tennis Club, the perfect place to hear about this compelling love story.
