Book Launch of The Artist and the Mirmin of Famagusta by Sarah Dean-Hunter local author

An Evening with Local Author & Artist Sarah Dean-Hunter: Art, Folklore, and Fictional Worlds

Join us for an inspiring evening with professional artist and author Sarah Dean-Hunter as she celebrates the release of her captivating new novel, The Artist and the Mirmin of Famagusta.

Set against the sun-drenched, golden backdrop of Cyprus, the novel follows Pearl, an artist whose life takes an enchanting and unexpected turn when she crosses paths with Siretta, a playful, gender neutral mermaid (Mirmin) from the deep. Far from a traditional romance, the book explores a rare, profound, and life-changing connection rooted in creativity, mutual discovery, and the beauty of platonic relationships. It is a story about learning to see the world through a completely fresh lens and discovering how art can bridge two entirely different worlds.

Whether you are a lover of independent fiction, an art enthusiast, or interested in diverse and unique character representation in modern literature, this talk offers a wonderful glimpse into the creative mind. The presentation will be followed by a Q&A session and a book signing. Copies of the book will be available for purchase.
