    Event description

Join author Stephanie Owen Reeder and illustrator Cher Hart as they launch their nonfiction children’s picture book Sensational Australian Animals. Covering more than 145 truly astounding creatures, this book showcases the strange things they can do with their eyes, ears, noses, mouths and skin!

Meet birds that laugh, frogs that quack and fish that sing. Discover mammals that glow in the dark and seahorses disguised as seaweed. Be surprised by turtles that breathe through their bums and squirm at lizards that clean their eyes with their tongues. And then there’s the dangerous creatures that bite and sting! This book will delight, disgust and amaze you.

Come along and meet the book’s creators. There’ll be book signings, plus animal-themed treats, along with bookmarks and activity sheets for the kids! And Cher will be  decorating our kids' window with some amazing animals.

The event will be in Green Square which is just outside the Book Cow in Kingston. In the event of wet weather we will let you know of the alternative dry weather venue nearby!

Dr Stephanie Owen Reeder is the author of over twenty historical novels and environmental picture books for children, including Lennie the Legend and Swifty: The Super-fast Parrot.
