Book Launch: The Last Snow Gum

Snow gums are the most beautiful trees on Earth. But they're vanishing quickly. In this stunning new book, bestselling author Anthony Sharwood and climate activist Anna Langford help us view Australia's unique high country with fresh eyes, show us what's being lost, what can be saved – and how we might just save ourselves in the process.

Join Ant and Anna for the launch of their book The Last Snow Gum: Loving and saving the most precious tree on Earth, and ourselves at House of Plants bar (366 Johnston St, Abbotsford) on Thursday October 8.

The book will be launched by Cam Walker, campaigns coordinator at Friends of the Earth Melbourne. Cam is a lifelong lover of, and advocate for, the Australian Alps. It’s no stretch to say that this book wouldn’t exist without him. 

Rock up from 6pm to grab yourself a bevvy and bite from the grazing platters before we kick off with a few wisecracks and pithy truisms at 7pm.

Book signing and purchasing will run from 7:30-8:30pm. 

Booze: aside from wine, beer and non-alcoholic drinks, House of Plants mixes up an array of native botanical-themed cocktails. And just for you, they’ll be making special snow gum limoncello spritzes on the night!

Nibbles: We’ll have some light grazing platters early in the evening, but you can also order pizza from Thin Slizzy up the road, which gets delivered straight to the bar.

Accessibility: the whole venue is wheelchair accessible.
