About the book:

The Unravelling Journey is a seven continent memoir following a young woman's fierce search to find the 'light at the end of the tunnel' amid the entrenching darkness that proceeds sexual assault. In the soaring heights of Peru's Andes Mountains, twenty-two-year-old Jessica partakes in an ancient medicinal cactus ceremony. It is here that fresh insight pierces the veil of her highly medicated depression as she realises that the light isn't at the end of the tunnel. It resides within. The prompts a steep dive into the barbed echoes of her past, as enriching metamorphosis entwines with jagged shards. As it entwines us in the gripping tapestry of transformation, we unfurl the power of hope within despair and discover the resilience of the human spirit.

Why the book?

About the author:

Jessica Sierra is an award-winning student of Behavioural Science, a traveller of 61 countries, and an international author of Elemental Echoes: Tales of Earth's Enchantment. Her writing journey began in 2013 with the commencement of The Unravelling Journey, which was picked up by HiveMind Press in 2021. At twenty-two years old, she stepped foot on her seventh continent, driven by passion to connect with different ways of life. Her curiosity about what makes people tick and commitment to making those around her feel safe and seen led to her undertaking a Bachelor of Behavioural Science at The University of Notre Dame, Fremantle in 2020. Skilled at interacting with individuals from diverse backgrounds and achieving excellence through critical thinking, Jessica is a breath of fresh air of joyful play, unshakable determination and soft courage.
