We are thrilled to be hosting an in conversation with two Australian crime fiction sensations Gabriel Bergmoser and Anna Downes

Gabriel and Anna will be in conversation with bookseller Josh Hortinela at Berkelouw Leichhardt as they discuss the brand-new thrillers The Hitchhiker and Red River Road. They will discuss their previous books as well as their writing process.

Gabriel Bergmoser is an award-winning Melbourne-based author and playwright. His latest book, The Hitchhiker, is a tense, sun-beaten and savage edge-of-your-seat thriller and twisted cat-and-mouse game set in the desolate expanse of the Australian outback.

Anna Downes is an actor-turned-author who grew up in Sheffield, UK and now lives on the NSW Central Coast with her family. Her internationally bestselling debut novel, The Safe Place, was published simultaneously in Australia, the US and the UK in 2020 and was shortlisted for the 2021 Sisters in Crime Davitt Awards. Red River Road was published in May of this year and was an instant bestseller upon release, reaching number five on the national Top Ten across all categories and spending six weeks as the number one Australian fiction title.
