This International Women's Day, ALTSEAN Burma is launching a groundbreaking book called Women's Voices from the Revolution (a collection of writings by first-time writers). This report is a powerful testimony to women’s resistance to military rule and control and against the oppression and sexual violence faced by women in militarised societies.

ALTSEAN Burma is a human rights organisation which campaigns for a return to democratic and civilian rule for Myanmar. APEHDA partners with ALTSEAN support their flagship women's leadership program for women of ethnic minorities in Myanmar.

Debbie Stothard: Debbie Stothard is one of Asia’s leading human rights advocates and a former Secretary-General of the International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH). A key focus of Debbie’s advocacy has been human rights and democracy in Myanmar and in 1996 she established Alternative Asean Network on Burma (ALTSEAN Burma)
