Boomerang Bags Working Bee- Re-useable gift bags

Join Boomerang Bags Sydney Inner West for a hands-on working bee! 🧵♻️

Following the launch of their new home at the Inner West Sustainability Hub, Boomerang Bags Sydney Inner West (BBSIW)

Help make a re-usable fabric gift bag or sack. Create a new sustainable tradition with your family or friends, and do away with single-use wrapping paper.

Bags can be any size, from small to very large to accommodate various sized gifts, and can be re-used or re-gifted year after year.

If you’re a proficient sewer you can bring along your own sewing machine/overlocker, or use one of the couple of spare machines we have on-site. Otherwise you can assist with preparation by cutting or pinning fabric together. We will be using donated fabrics and scraps saved from landfill.

No experience needed. Children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Refreshments and snacks will be provided.

Boomerang Bags Sydney Inner West (BBSIW) is a volunteer-led, not-for-profit group that transforms donated fabric into reusable bags and sustainable products, helping to reduce waste and plastic pollution. Through community projects, workshops and repair advice, BBSIW promotes the principles of Reduce, Reuse, Repurpose, Recycle and Repair.

This working bee is supported by the Green Living Centre program at the Inner West Sustainability Hub.
