    Event description

    Boorowa Community Landcare Group

    2023 Annual General Meeting

    ALL WELCOME
Boorowa Community Landcare Group (BCLG) is a dynamic not for profit environmental organisation that has evolved over the past 30+ years in our community.
Environmental volunteering offers a range of benefits for individuals, environmental organisations and the natural environment. These include enhanced mental and social health, and connection to place and learning about the environment. BCLG supports a culture of social inclusion, succession & recruitment to allow space for individuals to contribute in a valuable meaningful way.
If you would like to make a contribution to this organisation, we invite you to consider a role on the committee for 2024. New recruits are welcome & will be supported with an induction process.

All Boorowa Community Landcare Committee Positions will be open for nominations.
To nominate yourself, or someone else, please email clemencypress@gmail.com by Thursday 7th December 2023.

This years AGM will still be hosted at the Boorowa Ex-Services Club and will include a 2 course meal for $20 per person incl GST  (BCLG members) or $30 incl GST (guests).

We look forward to catching up and reflecting on our Landcare activities during 2023 and reporting back on the BCLG Members survey to discuss activites for 2024.

Our guest speaker will be James Alexander of Cootamundra, New South Wales, formerly of Boorowa & a previous committee member of BCLG. James received a 2020 Nuffield Scholarship supported by the NSW Department of Primary Industries. James will share his story 'Finding Harmony through regenerating people, place and profit'.

    James Alexander

James Alexander's Nuffield scholarship study topic: 'Finding Harmony through regenerating people, place and profit'. The aim of the study was to investigate the world of regenerative agriculture, and to find examples of farmers that have made changes to their behaviour, language, decision making, choice of inputs and practices that have enabled harmony between the people, place and profit in their farming business.

James visited Singapore, Japan, Israel, Denmark, USA, NZ, and travelled across Australia throughout the duration of this scholarship.

With experience as an agronomist and a farm overseer, James and wife Emily currently operate their own business, Long Grass Ag. They mentor farmers in working with natural intelligence farming through a big focus on the people. Additionally, his family runs a composite sheep stud at Cootamundra, with James also part-time managing a cattle farm.

    LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU!
