Borrowed Verse Presents: Nausicaa + Paul Bonetti + Digging
Event description
Borrowed Verse presents… a lazy lamp-lit afternoon of music conjuring the spirits of poetry. Paul Bonetti (w/ strings), Nausicaa (trio) and Digging will share their original songs alongside song-poems—with a little help from poets Judith Wright, Rimbaud, Michael Dransfield and Leonard Cohen.
—Nausicaa
The brainchild of songwriter Simon Munro, Nausicaa has been described as “equal parts Paul Simon and Nick Drake” (Dave Faulkner, The Saturday Paper). They have performed alongside the likes of Tiny Ruins and Ben Salter and premiered works at Dark Mofo, the Woodford Folk Festival, and the Brisbane Festival. Nausicaa is currently working on an album of Judith Wright adaptations centring on themes of birth, childhood, love, death, and the natural world.
—Paul Bonetti
A multi award-winning musician and composer, Paul Bonetti’s soaring range explores a diverse mix of influences, from folk, rock and R&B to jazz and classical. He has spent over 10 years exploring Michael Dransfield’s work, discovering dazzling pockets of light across the strange landscapes of his poetry.
—Digging
A brand new sparkling musical nugget from Ben Green, a man who’s dug many a musical landscape, from Tape/Off to Gold Stars.
