BOSS - 6-week dance & filming series with Dr. Jae West
Event description
Are you wanting to build your confidence through dance and command your life like the BOSS you were born to be?
Dr. Jae West is launching her brand new 6-week archetypal dance series, BOSS, to get you feeling alive, empowered and confident with yourself, your dance and your life.
Often as women we can suppress parts of ourselves that are shamed, judged or criticized by others or ourselves. This series is designed to weave psychological principles, archetypal embodiment & choreographed dance to support an integrative approach to mind-body wellness.
Each week we will spend 45 min on a subject associated with the Boss archetype and third chakra (listed below), interweaving discussion and psychology to optimize the results and impact of the course inside and outside the studio. The rest of the session will be focused on the Boss routine.
The dance style we are learning is upbeat, high-energy and sassy, CHARLIE'S ANGELS THEME. The song is Independent Woman by Destiny's Child.
After the 6 week container there is an opportunity to film to performance with incredible cinematographer Bree Billington (Contingent Films) in an amazing warehouse location.
What is the Archetypal ALKEMY Framework?
Archetypal ALKEMY is a framework created by Dr. Jae West and provides a framework of exploring and understanding the multitude of feminine expressions that live within each woman. It uses a multi-levelled approach that acknowledges the importance of the mind, body, emotions and spirit in the patterns that we live out and how we show up in the world.
Body - we look at different dance styles, movement patterns and how to hardness these to bring out different feminine expressions
Mind - we look at the psychology, motivation and intellectual framework to allow the mind to grasp and understand that patterns that it lives out, including it's gifts, it's cycles, it's triggers & it's safety mechanisms
Spirit - understanding the chakra system and how that links into the subtle energetics of which feminine archetypes we gravitate to and what we get triggered/afraid of
Emotions - we use archetypes or characters as a way of accessing different emotional embodiments that allow us to learn, grow and thrive
