Botanical Drawing at The Cedars
Event description
Dive deep into the beauty of the botanical at The Cedars, the estate of revered Australian landscape painter Sir Hans Heysen. This Cedars inspired two of Australia's most famous painters - Hans Heysen and artist daughter Nora Heysen - the first female to win the Archibald prize.
Focusing in May on the stunning Autumn foliage and in September on the beautiful variety of gum leaves here at The Cedars, immerse yourself for this two hour workshop in the same stunning environment that inspired Hans and Noras' award-winning works and create your own masterpiece.
Under the tutelage of talented botanic artist Sandra Johnston and using quality artists' pencils, discover the detail of the botanical world, develop your own creative skills and leave the class with your own framed artwork. Art materials are provided, although participants are welcome to bring their own artists’ coloured pencils.
