Event description

POTTERY HANDBUILDING WORKSHOP.
Use real foliage to create botanical texture and design.

Suitable for beginners and all skill levels.

Join Morgyn for clay, chats and learn all about ceramics in this beginner friendly workshop.

Location: Karkoo Nursery, Oakbank.

LIMITED SPOTS!

$110 per person.

Suitable for all ages.

In this workshop you will spend 2.5 hours learning some of the foundational techniques of hand building, including how to make a spoon and a pinch pot. This is the perfect space for you to slow down and be mindful whilst playing with clay.
You will be able to use real foliage to create texture, pattern and design if you choose to.

Students will be demonstrated some basic techniques but then you will be able to freely create your own pieces. With support of the teacher you can let creativity take over or simply see where a pinch pot can take you - bring any ideas you have along! The session will be capped in size to ensure each student can receive one on one support if they wish.

By the end of the workshop you will have created a handful of pieces (1-4+ depending on what sizes you create) and will have an opportunity to decorate your pieces with underglaze paints. Your pieces will then be taken away to be fired, and then finished with a clear glaze.

Finished pieces will be available for collection approx.4-6 weeks later after they've been fired from the venue. Please only book this class if you are able to collect your pieces afterwards.

All materials and firing provided but please bring along an apron or towel.

Bookings are limited.

Price: $110 + booking fee

Duration: 2.5 hours.

Where: Karkoo Nursery, Oakbank

When: Sunday 21st Jan 2024, 10am-12:30pm.

Disclaimer: Your pottery will be fully glazed with a food safe glaze, however Parrot and Pea Ceramics takes no responsibility for the function or durability of your piece, nor any faults that could cause a safety hazard.
