Event description

Botanical Imprints: Exploring nature's patterns on fabric and paper
Date: 1 October 2023
Time: 10am to 4pm
Cost: $50 +booking fee (contact for concession request)

Explore using nature to print on fabric and paper with Margaret Castle and Annette Rohde.

We will spend the morning in the garden talking about what we can use to print with and selecting items from the garden and collected to use to print on a piece of fabric and onto paper. We will then bundling them up to but them in a pot to boil and leave their imprints. While these are cooking away, we will enjoy a light lunch with optional walk in the Aldinga Scrub Conservation Park or on the beach - then look at ways we could embellish our items.

Materials: All materials will be provided. Feel free to bring along any material you'd like to print (fabric needs to be natural material: cotton, linen or silk and washed. paper needs to be printmaking or watercolour paper). Feel free to bring any plant items you'd like to add. In the afternoon we will look at how we can add to our printed items to enhance them or to turn them into something we can use.

You will be provided with tea, coffee and a light lunch.
