Event description

Join a small group of like minded creatives for this full day practical workshop in natural dyeing and eco print, also known as botanical contact printing. You will learn how to use various seasonal plants to create unique colours and prints on natural textiles. During this workshop you will prepare your fabrics for dyeing with a mordant, choose suitable dye plants with a tikanga approach, design your leaf patterns, wrap a dye bundle and more. Each participant will receive fabrics to infuse with beautiful colours to take home. Participants are required to bring a varied selection of leaves, petals or seeds from your garden or from a place significant to you. A notebook or camera to document as you learn is optional. Materials, dyes, tutoring and morning tea is included. Please BYO lunch.
